Welcome to Aztec Dahlias!!

August 2011

This year Aztec Dahlias celebrates its 10th Anniversary! Its hard to believe our three children were only 3, 7 and 9 years old when we begin this adventure. (That's my daughter Katie Rose in the painting to the left selling dahlias at our road side stand when she was about 11 years old!)

We have learned much along the way about dahlias, websites, farm markets and so many categories it makes my head spin to think about it. It all began as a hobby business, but it became full time three years ago when my "real" position was eliminated due to company restructuring. Lucky for us our Dahlia business was already off the ground and running - we just needed to grow and expand to turn it into a full time venture.

Aztec Dahlias is a labor of love. We love dahlias and we love seeing people experience their breathtaking beauty for the first time. Last year we sold many tubers at local farm markets. This year many of these same people have come up and said how beautiful their own Aztec Dahlias are and how excited they are that they can actually grow them and get the great results we do as well. It's nice to have that feedback and it is part of why we are still doing this business 10 years later.

We now have a Facebook account as well as a blog on Word Press. Please "LIKE" us on Facebook - there is a link to do so on our home page. We welcome your comments, feedback and pictures.

Our cut flowers and plants are sold locally to florists, shops, restaurants and individuals on site daily from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. mid July through the end of October or early November as long as the weather holds out. We now participate in nine Farmer's Markets in three counties (please see our Farmer's Market link above for a complete schedule and locations).

Our growing location is at: 2115 Adobe Road, Petaluma, CA 94954. We are located just North of the Adobe Rd and E. Washington Street intersections.

Thanks to each of you once again for helping make our dream business a living reality and being a large part of the success it is today!

Regards,

The O'Brien Family
